Writing is a skill that transcends subjects and allows students to express themselves while demonstrating mastery of several academic standards across multiple subject areas. This is why we feel it is vital for students to become proficient writers in order to convey their complete thoughts and ideas in a logical, sequential, and effective way. Writing should be looked at as
thinking—through the end of a pen. Each school and classroom in the Mill Creek Community School Corporation will continue to make writing a point of emphasis for students. The purpose of recognizing these students for writing excellence is to recognize their accomplishments and those of their teachers who have given them the tools necessary to succeed. |
